Biblical Submission Hits American Politics

Sorry, I don’t have the technical skills to make the article itself visible in my post. Perhaps someone call share with me how to do that? Anyway, I ran across this article in my Facebook feed and was extremely offended by how the article is written and how the friend who shared it was presenting the concept of submission to a man.

The new supreme court judge being appointed lives in a Taken In Hand style relationship based on Biblical verse. Obviously, as a woman who chooses to live in a D/s relationship, I don’t have an issue with male led relationships. The issue I have is how this article is presenting the issue. Turning something beautiful and private into a political hate fest on liberals… AND calling the relationship choices of a couple into question in a horrible way.

Those of you have have read my blog for a while now know I’m really not good at keeping my mouth shut. I had a few choice words for the poster of this article!

I admonished her that I happen to have a few friends who live in a TIH relationship model based on Biblical standards. I also pointed out that I live in a 24/7 D/s relationship in which I’m submissive to my husband. I suggested that she educate herself a bit more on the lifestyle this woman lives before she jumps to conclusions and judges her. The article is negatively slanted. Women who live in any form of D/s relationships (Biblical or not) have CHOSEN this lifestyle and it takes a great deal of strength to submit areas of your life to another human being.

To be frank, as a staunch Atheist, I see Biblical submission as a cop out for many to have the kinky lifestyle they want and still maintain good standing in their faith. With this said, I will defend the choice tooth and nail.

I’m sick to death of politics and the morality issues which are coming up over and over. FFS, if a person is qualified to do the job what business is it of any of ours what style of relationship a person chooses in their private life?!

      1. I’m not well versed in the ins and outs of the lifestyle, but the basics are a male dominated marriage/relationship which is not necessarily kinky or sexual D/s. For those following it in the Biblical context it’s taken from the scripture about women being obedient and submitting to their husbands and husbands caring for their wives. There is also typically a form of corporeal punishment to keep the wife in line…. again… not strictly a D/s thing.

  1. You absolutely hit the nail on the head with your last comment: Why does it matter what they do in privacy so long as the job they are hired/elected to do is done properly? Because in today’s day and age it is easier to find and use slander/dirt to win then actual facts and truths. šŸ™‚

    1. It’s one of the downfalls of 24/7 media and internet. There is no privacy and people feel like everything is their business. *sigh* I hate this woman’s politics and that’s my issue with her. I don’t care what she does in her private home, her relationship, or even what church she goes to or doesn’t. Thank you for commenting, Jay-lyn!

  2. Iā€™m so sick of it too but itā€™s more than that in that awful group and those that abuse it thatā€™s where the narcissists and abusers are. Margaret Atwood got her inspiration on the handmaidā€™s tale from that religious group. Iā€™m honestly sick of all religion used in politics and other things where it doesnā€™t belong.
