I woke up from a nap yesterday afternoon to Daddy telling me had some bad news for me. I was not even remotely expecting that Roe v. Wade had been overturned! I honestly never thought it would happen. Then again, I never thought Trump had a snowball’s chance in Hell of being elected. I stand in horror once again at what the far right, religious zealots are doing to our nation. I grieved in outrage and fear when Trump took office as I do now.
The religious right is a cancer in our nation pushing our country backwards. Rights fought for and granted overturned. The drive to push women down into submissive, meaningless roles without rights or power. The insurgence of white supremacy boldly growing across the country. Denial of healthcare to transgendered people, making it a crime. Reversing abortion rights affects far more than simply whether a woman chooses to have a child or not. It’s rooted in deeper beliefs than just that one thing.
We are nearing the end of Pride Month. I am feeling it necessary to step back into my community and take a role to fight to maintain the hard-won rights. Protect marriage equality and transgender rights. The LGBTQIA+ community stands up for women’s rights more than any large group I’ve met.
I’m fortunate to live in California where human rights are protected in ways they are not in other parts of the country. I have the safety and protection to stand up for those in parts of the US who don’t.
If you don’t think women’s rights matter, get off my page!! Don’t follow!! Don’t comment!! I stand with women’s right AND human rights.
Oh well. Good luck.

David, I’m really happy you were able to adopt one child and give that child a loving, happy home. I know many people who grew up in the foster care system and women who couldn’t get out of abusive relationships with another baby. I’m not pro-abortion. I’m pro women’s rights and what happens to those children once they’re born. I honestly don’t see why those who are against abortion can’t mind their own business and just not have them. We have a supposed separation of church and state for a reason!! Please don’t respond. I’m over you.

I’m happy to read that you’re prepared to take an active role in the fight. I’ve read a number of quotes from the anti-abortion crowd that they are setting their sights on the states that still permit abortion. They’re not stopping with the Bible belt.

Those in power or with money were challenged and scared by what was happening in even the hamstringed administration of President Obama. The backlash was the election of a know mysoginist and womanizer who is also one of the biggest con artists in the last 40 years.
Women were becoming more powerful and a threat. So since their way of life was being challenged they work to suppress and divide.
With the threat of the government trying to legislate the bedroom I am afraid that my alternative lifestyle family (we would be classified as polyamourous except that we are a mostly monogamous quad, it’s complicated but it works and is a big house filled with love. )
I think the Bill of Rights needs to be rewritten.
All people are created equal.
Embues with the right to breathe clean air, drink clean water, have shelter, healthcare, and an education.
Healthcare is a concern of the individual and their provider. Not under the purview of government or industry. If someone needs treatment they will receive it regardless of their ability to pay. People and their healthcare providers are responsible to each other to not abuse the system. Abuse will have consequences to be determined by an elected council of their peers. Selected by a diverse population.
Love is love and can be expressed however consenting adults choose as long as no harm is done.
Family is defined as a collective of individuals of any gender who are committed to love and cherish as well as nourish those within their group.
No one has a right to tell another how to live as long as here is no harm to themselves or others. Those unkind and unwilling to cooperate will be cast out.
Maybe I went to far on that last one.
But overall the right has a no hold barred attitude and those not in their camp have limits that make the difference.
