Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to each and every one of you!
Daddy and i celebrated Christmas this morning when He got home from work with gift exchanges and lots of giggle. There were tears on both sides this year. My amazing husband has such a soft heart and is terribly sentimental. ♥ He knew just what little things to get to make my heart sing.
Honestly, we just couldn’t hold out giving our gifts one more day! *giggling* He wanted me to have the things He go so much and vice versa. i held out keeping the secret longer than i thought i could!!!
Fun socks are one of my most favoritest things in the whole world! He got me 3 pairs. The first pair made me grin ear-to-ear. They have bears and trees on them. Made me think of our plan to move to NH this spring. 🙂 The next pair has a sexy mermaid on them with “Making Waves” written in the pattern. (i’m wearing them today!) The last pair has grilled cheese sandwiches cuz Daddy says i make the best grilled cheese sandwiches in the whooole world! i giggled. He also picked me up a pretty red apron with white polka dots and a satin bow. 🙂 He saw me looking at it not long ago. It’s sooo pretty i’m not sure i can actually wear and use it!! It’s really girly and classic 1950’s style. i can’t bear to ruin it!!! The last thing made me cry. Actually cry. A set of decorative forks. One reads “Always” and the other “Forever”. Such a simple little thing tugged my heart strings making me feel so very loved and special.
We didn’t really have a wedding. No bells, no whistles or pomp and circumstance. We don’t even have wedding pictures, if you can believe that! These forks are a set you’d use for cake at the reception. They’re beautiful and so very sentimental.
Daddy has a sweet tooth!!! He’s a snacker in general. Hard candy, crackers, cookies, chocolates. He just loves to nibble and snack. Sooo… i gave Him a stocking full of His favorite candies along with a box of peanut brittle. The other stuff…. i hit the nail on the head. i’ve never seen Daddy speechless before and so full of emotion over a thing. When He opened the package and saw the first Suicidal Tendencies record He just stared at it for the longest time looking at every last detail before He spoke. He was elated and stunned that i’d chosen that one. Next was the first Ramones album. His response was the same. Daddy was overcome with emotion! He had a massive vinyl collection which was lost a while back. Daddy is a music lover before all else!! A drum kit was out of the question right now, but restarting His collection and a new turntable was not. ♥ i love making Daddy happy!!!
i got Him a new Victrola 6-in-1 Bluetooth enabled 3 speed turntable with radio, CD and cassette in a vintage style mahogany case. It’ll be here on Friday. 🙂 A gift certificate to The Last Record Store will give Him hours of fun enjoying His new toys. ♥
Now, i have to share the humorous moments, too. i stayed up all night chatting with Him while He was at work and watching Netflix. As my eyes started to close this morning wrapped around Him the fork jokes began. “Daddy… i’ll fork You Always and Forever”, “You’re the only one i’ll fork Always and Forever”. We giggled ourselves to sleep as we ran through the forking jokes. 🙂
He’s sleeping and i’m cleaning house. Laundry going. Floors scrubbed. i’ve got fever and chills, but i’m going to enjoy a happy day with my Daddy!!! The dogs are having WWF Puppy Smack Down as i write. All is well in the world.
Quiet, relaxing day here for us tomorrow. Lots of laughter. We have tabletop pool to play and a new dart board to break in along with a few new Mad Libs. Good food, good company. Lots and lots of love. That’s what the holidays are all about.
