DAY 18:  Very often the stereotype of submission is that the submissive person loses the ability to have an opinion. While that clearly isn’t true except in the absolute rarest of occasions, how does communication factor into your submission and how do you communicate your desires and needs?

i disagree that a sub loses the ability to have an opinion at any time. A submissive’s brain never stops working no matter what degree their submission is. How they express it only changes.

Daddy and i don’t follow a strict protocol of communication all of the time. The power exchange is always present in our relationship, though there is easy communication between us. i am able to speak freely at any time so long as i am respectful. Rarely do big things come up which need more discussion than a playful request or passing comment.

If there is a desire for something new we’ll bring it up during a totally vanilla part of our life so that there’s no formality to the discussion until we reach a point of wanting to negotiate or flesh out more details to try this new thing or talk about what might work instead of why the entire thing is wrong for us.
