Didn’t get enough sleep last night. i committed to helping my friend take dogs to the vet early this morning. Didn’t get myself in bed early enough. Got home falling apart in a state of an irritable, whiny, sick little girl Daddy fed me and tucked me back in bed. i was sound asleep almost before my head hit the pillow.
i woke up for a few minutes a couple hours in and felt that asthma exhaustion. i checked my peak flow and was down 60 pts. i was too tired to do anything about it. Right back to bed and passed out again. 4 hours later i woke up to the same exhaustion, coughing and a peak flow reading lower than the last. Albuterol will help for a little bit. 😦
my asthma is so bad and hard to control that i take 4 daily maintenance meds and end up on Prednisone a few times a year. Doctor has me on a set rule: If i use a rescue inhaler more than twice in one week, i have to see him to get me back under control. Here we go again. Monday i’ll be back on a Prednisone taper. Icky!
Back to bed with Ruffi and a movie til Daddy gets home with some OJ. In the meantime, i’ll try to keep my whining to a minimum…
Take care of yourself.

My Aunt Opal was a bad asthmatic
She grew up in a time when coal furnaces were the norm. Wonder if that had anything to do with it.

It quite likely did. My last asthma attack was triggered by smoke from the BBQ. The biggest reason my lungs are so bad is because my dad smoked in the house. I coughed, so he’d shut all the doors and windows trying to protect me. lol
Environmental factors are huge.
I’m in Sonoma County where we had the huge wild fires in 2017 & 2018. I was sick with varying degrees of asthma and lung issues for almost a year. I honestly didn’t think I’d get over that.

Yeah. Sonoma sounds so picturesque, until… you read about the fires.

It’s gorgeous! I’ve lived here for 19.5 years. Funny thing is, I’ve been chomping at the bit for about 5 years to get out of California… especially the wine country. lol Grass is always greener…

I get it. California, I’ve heard, is simultaneously the richest state and the poorest state in the Union. You won’t be the first or the last to get out.

I fall into the true middle class here. I live in one of the best neighborhoods in a home that is paid for….because my family bought years ago when prices were still attainable to the ordinary person. I count myself extremely fortunate. It’ll allow me to relocate into something much nicer than I could EVER have here. S (husband) and I are looking to move back east asap. I want to be out before this next fire season happens. It’s rocked me pretty hard! Don’t think it’ll be possible, time wise. I can hope, though!
